The Bitcoin Block Clock runs the latest release of Bitcoin Core and stores the entire blockchain on a 1 TB solid-state drive. It connects directly to the Bitcoin peer-to-peer network and visualizes the full node state. There is no API server and no price ticker, just you and the blockchain.
The current blockchain tip block hash is expressed in binary with its colors derived by the hash itself. As transactions are added to the mempool, the top half of the screen fills up and changes color. Recent blocks tick around the outside of the clock face, filled in when a wallet transaction is confirmed. Difficulty adjustment and halvening cycles are drawn as progress bars that grow and change color.
The HDMI screen on top of the clock lists your connected network peers, geo-located by IP address.
The clock can display addresses and private keys as QR codes to send and sweep from the built-in wallet.
Personalize your Bitcoin Block Clock with any 32 x 32 RGB image!
The Bitcoin Block Clock software is open source and available
